Texas Style Hickory Sausage

Looking for a new twist on our hickory smoked bison sausage? Try it this way!

Texas Style Hickory Sausage

  • 5 smoked bison sausages
  • 5 butter top buns
  • Your favorite chili
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 jalapeno, chopped
  • Cheddar cheese
  • 4 cups of water


  1. Bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add sausages, and reduce heat to simmer. Cook until sausages have reached an internal temperature of 160°F, or 5-7 minutes.
  2. Cook or warm your favorite chili.
  3. Remove sausages from water and place in buns.
  4. Top with all other ingredients.
